In this composition, when I first took the pictures that have 1's on them, I just simply took them. I wasn't using any methods or any rules. When I took the pictures again, the ones that have 2's on them, I used the bird's eye view rule for the still life, the cropping rule for something in motion, and the rule of 3rd's for the portrait.

Artist StatementMy artwork looks like a tropical island. The subject matter is the sky, trees, and the ground. The title of my work is "The Beauty Of Nature". The tools that I used to create my artwork were soft pastels. I was inspired by an image that I had seen. The emotion that my artwork expresses is calmness. My goal as an artist is to get others to understand the meaning behind it. Yes, this piece did help me to reach that goal because the meaning behind this piece is calmness. I learned that its good to experiment with new tools, such as oil pastels and soft pastels. Yes, this is the image that I imagined creating, i imaged creating trees that looked similar to the trees off of the "Lorax" movie.
Artist Statement: Janiah CampbellThe Oh So Scary Dragon” is the name of my art piece. My art work looks like a dragon standing in front of a volcano. The process that I used was first, outlining the ink in pencil, I colored in color pencil wash, then I painted over it with water. I came up with the idea of a dragon after we had blown on the ink because that's what I saw when I repeatedly turned it around. My goal as an artist is to show emotion and inspire others by my art. I learned how to use wash colored pencils. This is the what I imagined creating.
Artist Statement: Janiah CampbellIn my work, I used a lot of geometric shapes, such as rectangles, triangles, circles, pentagons, and squares. The tools that I used to create my art work were charcoal, ink pens, graphite, tape, markers, and water. In my art work I tried to show that even when you're going through bad times there is still hope. The light parts of my paper represent hope. My goal as an artist is to give my art pieces a purpose. I learned that there is more to art than just drawing, this final piece is not what I imagined but I like what I have created.
